Conducting Covert Investigations on The Internet
Liverpool 25-29 November 2019
Vestigo Consulting in partnership with Platinum 3P Limited are delighted to offer this unique training and ground-breaking experience.
Undertaking investigations on the Internet is never simple because of the technical footprints and traces that are left by the investigator, leading to a risk that the investigation may be compromised. Add to this challenge a requirement for the investigation to be conducted in a purely covert manner and we are stepping into a very complex environment.
To effectively conduct a covert online investigation, a number of skill sets are required including technical knowledge, social engineering techniques, dynamic decision making and risk management, an understanding of the psychological issues influencing the behaviour online of both the investigator and subject of the investigation and legal and best practice issues.
This is a hands on, practical and immersive course suitable for those who use the internet to conduct covert investigations such as test purchase, online surveillance and other covert online investigations.
The subjects dealt with will enhance the effectiveness of any investigator conducting Internet investigations.
Delegates will grapple with several online exercises increasing in complexity throughout the course with a final interactive exercise designed to test participants online against real people.
The course will be facilitated by experienced former police online undercover officers and trainers, an accomplished business psychologist and a former police senior investigating officer to provide the depth of knowledge and tradecraft required when operating in this challenging area of business.
The facilitators are current practitioners in their fields, ensuring delegates are provided with training based on recent and authentic operational experiences.
Delegates will also build personal confidence in this area of expertise and have an opportunity to identify how they will use new knowledge and skills in the working environment.
Sessions will be approached from an operational perspective, with psychological issues explored to ensure delegates can operate safely whilst maximising investigative opportunities.
This course will be delivered over 5 days
